History of interstitial cystitis

What are some red flags for cystitis?

A

Fevers, chills, nausea, vomiting, flank
Vaginal discharge or pruritus
Dyspareunia (painful intercourse)
Significant hematuria

What are the classic symptoms associated with acute uncomplicated cystitis?

A

Dysuria, urinary urgency, &/or frequency
Suprapubic pain or mild hematuria
Absence of vaginal symptoms

Nitrofurantoin 100mg BID x 5 days
