CXCL8. Major Chemotatic factor for neutrophils

Secreted by Macrophages

Induces T cell diff to TH1.

Activates NK cells.

Secreted by Macrophages and B cells

Stimulates growth of all T cells (Cyt, Help, regulators).

Stimulates Immune System in general.

Growth and differentiation of bone marrow cells.

Works like GM-CSF (Granulocyte macrophages CSF)

All T cells produce it.

Anti viral and anti tumor.

Stims Macrophages,
Stims NK cells. Kill viral encoded cells.

Increase MHC and Antigen presentation

Inhibits TH2 dev.

Induces TH2 Diff (Opposite of 12 w/ TH1)

Promotes B cell Growth

and switching to E and G

Diff of B cells.

Switch to IgA.

Stimulates Eosinophils

Don't confuse IgE w/ eosinophils

Anti inflammatory. INhibits activated T cells, and TH1.

Secreted als oby Reg T cells. Inhibits macrophages

Similar to TGF-B

TNF-a

Septic Shock, Activates endothleium (w/ IL-1)

LEukocyte recruiment, vascular leak

secreted by macrophages.

IFN-a and IFN-B

Interferons interfere with viruses

Innate host defense against viruses

Synthesized in virally infected cells. act locally on uninfected cells. priming them for viral defense.

Once a "Primed" Cell is infected, RNAase L --> degrades viral mRNA

Protein Kinase --> inhibits protein synthesis

Early apoptosis

Used in HCV and HBV (IFN B)
