Document Status Accounting Report

A document status accounting report typically includes the following information:
* The identification and description of the product or system and its configuration items (CIs).
* The current status and history of changes to the product or system and its CIs, including the date, reason, and approval of each change.
* The documentation associated with the product or system and its CIs, such as specifications, drawings, manuals, test reports, etc.
* The actual configuration of the product or system and its CIs, such as serial numbers, versions, locations, etc.

A document status accounting report can help to ensure that the product or system meets its requirements, functions as intended, and can be maintained and supported effectively. It can also facilitate communication and coordination among the stakeholders involved in the development, production, operation, and disposal of the product or system.

There are different standards and formats for document status accounting reports, depending on the industry, domain, and customer requirements. Some examples of document status accounting report standards are:

  • ANSI/EIA-649-B National Consensus Standard for Configuration Management
  • DATA ITEM DESCRIPTION DID-CM-DATA-CSAR-V5.0 TITLE: CONFIGURATION STATUS ACCOUNTING REPORT
  • CASG HANDBOOK (E&T) 12-2-003 TECHNICAL DATA MANAGEMENT

Gap Analysis

A

A gap analysis looks for the reasons you aren’t achieving certain business goals. It considers where you are, where you want to be and looks for the reasons preventing your success. With that information, you are able to create an action plan that closes the gaps.
