Have multiple people carry it out and then take an average
Split these people up to go to various places in the area at different times

Easy to understand

Only looking at the ground floor, so due to vertical zoning you can’t see the ‘true’ picture of the land use

Limited number of questions
Avoids personal questions
Mainly closed questions, some open questions
Short questions at first, longer ones last

Lots of people may not be taken into account: ie elderly, children, those who can’t speak English
Therefore not full view of demographic
Some people are just tourists who don’t have as good a view
How to improve questionnaire?
Involve children + elderly if you can
Larger sampling size (ie ask more people)

Easy to compare + interpret

Spend several days on different sites at different times of day and take an average
