How to Calculate Average/Mean?
Add up all values and then divide by how many values there are.
How to Calculate Uncertainty?
You do: range divided by 2, divided by average, x 100
What is a Period of a Pendulum?
The time that a pendulum takes to complete 1 swing forwards and backwards.
What is the independent variable?
This is the variable being changed to impact the dependent variable.
What is the dependent variable?
This is the variable being measured that the independent variable impacts.
What is a good hypothesis structure?
If….., Then….., Because…..,
What is the difference between controlled and uncontrolled variables?
Uncontrolled variables can not be controlled and can negatively impact the result, a controlled variable is the things that have to be kept the same in order to maintain a fair test.
What is a fair test?
This is an experiment/observation that is fair and has the same disadvantages and advantages on each side.
How to calculate range?
Largest value take lowest value
What is a trend in results?
It is the general movement up or down in results, when referring to the trend, always mention statistics from the experiment
What is the difference between precision and accuracy?
Accuracy is how close the experimental value to the true value, precision is the closeness of the measurements to one another. (Dart-board)
