  • Data shows the properties of ordinal data
  • Interval between the values is expressed in terms of a fixed unit of measure
  • Always numeric
    example: temperature

  • Numbers/categories are used to indicate a rank or order.
  • Relative magnitudes are meaningful.
    example: Survey responses that scale attitudes towards a business from 1 to 5
