The way they work in the background is different. In spreadsheets you view the data you are entering. In a database you see only the data you are entering at the time - you have to request a report or different display to see more of the information.

  1. Databases save enormous amounts of paper and filing space.

  3. Data can be easily changed and updated

  6. Data can be imported and exported to other programs.

  6. Some databases require much time to be spent on staff training which is costly
