  • House will be characterized by rebellion/sin
  • Ammon’s incest desire, absalom kills ammon and flees
  • David brings him back only to have Absalom attempt to steal the kingdom from him
  • battle rose, david won, but the people resented him for it
  • Kingdom split into israel and judah
  • lost their confidence
