bǎ
把
Bǎ yīfu xǐ xǐ = have the clothes washed
In Chinese, “bǎ” is frequently used to emphasize the object(s) in the sentence. In this sentence construction, the object is placed before the verb instead of after.
In Pleco, this seems to be a preposition meaning: a particle marking the following noun as a direct object. When Vivienne says “emphasize” that could mean “make this the main focus”.
Note: “the verb must be reduplicated (as above) or accompanied by some other word or expression” (Pleco)
xǐxǐshuànshuàn = laundering / washing utensils + other household cleaning jobs || xǐ normally = happy/pleased/joy/be fond of
