  • Conductivity- coducts heat and electricity , fine gold used for micro- circuiting.
  • Heat reflecting- reflects heat rays effciently , heat protector in space suits and vehicles.
  • Colour- ideal for jewellery making.

  • In 1872 on the farm Spitskop in Lydenburg District by Edward Button.
  • Pilgrims rest and Baberton .
  • In 1866 George Harrison and George Walker discovered the gold deposit on the farm Langlaagte.
