Human beings have depended on access to water since 1. THE earliest days of civilization, but considering there are 8 billion people on the planet, exponentially expanding urbanisation and development are driving demand as never before.
“Water use has been growing at more than twice the rate of the population increase over the last century”, said Kirsty Jenkinson from 2. THE University of Oxford in 3.THE United Kingdom.
“Water use is predicted to increase by 50 percent between 2007 and 2025 in developing countries and 18 percent in developed ones, whereby much of the increased use can be found in 4.THE
poorest countries with more and more people moving from rural areas to cities”, Jenkinson said in a telephone interview. “It is expected that there will be more severe floods, droughts and shifts from
past precipitation patterns, which are likely to hit 5.THE least wealthy people first and we have a significant challenge on our hands,” Jenkinson added.
Will there be enough water for everyone, especially if 6. the world population continues to rise, as predicted, to 9 billion by the mid-century?

his hair with a fork, put his
shirt on backwards, and ran
out the door. On the way, he
tripped over the cat, knocked off his
grandfather’s hat, and accidentally kicked his sister’s shoe. When he got to school, he realized it was Sunday.

Pedro acordou atrasado,
penteou o cabelo com o
garfo, vestiu a camisa ao
contrário e saiu correndo.
No caminho, tropeçou no

avô e chutou sem querer o
