Refers to the examination of a body after death to determine the cause of death or character and extent of changes produced by disease
Autopsy
The interment of remains in a grave, niche, tomb and a columbarium, the sea for the cremains or ashes and other approved final disposal places
Burial
A place duly authorized by law for permanent disposal of the dead such as cemetery, memorial park, catacomb, ossuary and columbarium
Burial ground
Refers to the body of a deceased person (remains used for anatomical studies)
Cadaver
Refers to an underground place of burial consisting of galleries or passages with slide recesses for tombs
Catacomb
Refers to ashes resulting from the cremation of a dead body
Cinerary remains or cremains
Termination of activities in the cemetery concerned
Closure of Burial Ground
A structure of vaults lined with recesses for cinerary urns; a vault with niches for urns containing ashes of the dead
Columbarium
Refers to the DOH- Committee of Examiners for Undertakers and Embalmers
Committee
Refers to a process of reducing human remains to bone fragments of fine sand (particles) or ashes through combustion and dehydration
Cremation
Refers to a disease with high level of infectiousness that spread rapidly and extensively or which is serious or life-threatening
Dangerous Communicable Disease
Refers to the the permanent disappearance of all evidence of life at any time after live birth has taken place (post natal cessation of vital functions without the capability of resuscitation)
Death
An official document setting forth particulars relating to a dead person, including the name of the individual, the date of birth and the date of death

The removal of exhumation of remains from places of interment

Disposal of Dead Persons
Refers to the proper care and management of human remains during handling, preparation, preservation, transport, and final disposal or use
Disposal of Dead Persons
A duly licensed person by the DOH authorized to practice embalming
Embalmer
The art and science of preparing, disinfecting, preserving and restoring the remains to forestall decomposition and to make them suitable for public display at a funeral before final disposal
Embalming
A duly authorized place by law where dead bodies are embalmed and prepared for final disposition
Embalming Facility/ Establishment
An exceptionally difficult situation with one or more of the following conditions:
1. absence of a doctor
2. far-flung area (retrieval of the remain is not possible within 7 hrs of death)
3. non-working day
4. mass casualty incident and mass deaths
5. mass burial
6. absence of relatives
7. war
8. force majeure
Extreme cases
Death prior to the complete expulsion or extraction from its mother of a product of conception, irrespective of the duration of the pregnancy; the death is indicated by the fact that after such separation the fetus does not breath nor show any other evidence of life, such as beating of the heart, pulsation of the umbilical cord, or definite movement of voluntary muscles
