What is an atom?
The atom is a basic unit of matter, which cannot be broken down into anything simpler by chemical reactions.
What is a chemical element?
A chemical element is a pure chemical substance consisting of only one type of atom.
What is a mixture?

What is atomic number?
The atomic number is the number of protons in a nucleus of an atom.
What is atomic mass?
The atomic mass is the number of protons and neutrons in a nucleus of an atom.
What is a positive ion?
A positive ion is the result of an atom (metal or hydrogen) losing one or more electrons.
What is a negative ion?
A negative ion is the result of an atom (non-metals) gaining one or more electrons.
What is an alloy?
An alloy is a mixture of metals.
What is rusting?
Rusting is the reaction between iron, oxygen and water to form iron oxides.
What is a solvent?
A solvent is a liquid that solids dissolve in.
