Settlement
a place, typically one which has previously been uninhabited, where people establish a community.
Community
a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.

everyone, regardless of their background, has the same access to environmental protections and benefits

the relationship that individuals, communities, and societies develop with their surroundings

making a certain situation or outcome likely or possible.

Being able to live in a town or city, without encountering issues such as expensive housing, Non- sanitary water, and medical facilities to support residents.

Personal opions or feelings about how comfortable, safe, or satisfying a place is to live.
Objective measures
Are based on factual data like crime rate, access to services, or housing quality
Settlement Hierarchy
the order of settlements from smallest to largest based on population and services.
Centrality
How importany or accsessable a place is whithin a settlement or reigon, based on its services and connections.
Megalopolis
A megalopolis is a chain of large, connected cities forming one vast urban area.
Function
Function is the main purpose or role of a place or settlement.
Specialisation of labour
Means focusing on tasks to improve homes and living conditions.
Infrastructure
Physical systems and services needed for a community to function, like roads, water and electricity.
Residential
areas where people live such as houses, apartments and neighborhood.
