The impression you project through both your outward appearance and your conduct in the workplace.
Client consultation
Also known as needs assessment; the verbal communication with a client that determines what the clients needs and how to achieve the desired results.
Effective communication
The act of sharing information between two people (or groups of people) so that the information is successfully understood.
Reflective listening
Listening to the client and then repeating, in your own words, what you think the client is telling you.
Acquired immune deficiency syndrome
AIDS; a disease that breaks down the body’s immune system. Aids is caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
Acquired immunity
Immunity that the body develops after overcoming a disease, through inoculation ( flu vaccination ), or through exposure to natural allergens
Allergy
Reaction due to extreme sensitivity to certain foods, chemicals, or other normally harmless substances
Antiseptics
Chemical germicides formulated for use on skin; registered and regulated by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Asymptotic
Showing no symptoms or signs of infections
Bacilli
Short rod-shaped bacteria. The most common bacteria and produce diseases such as tetanus (lockjaw), typhoid fever, tuberculosis and diphtheria.
Bacteria
One-called microorganism that have both plant and animal characteristics. Some are harmful and some are harmless
