Materialism
a world view that defines identity, fulfillment, security and success in terms of temporal things
Stewardship
the use of God-given resources for the accomplishment of God-given goals

communication of God’s truth in love in ways that strengthen Christians to go on following God’s will

moral correction through verbal confrontation which is motivated by love
post millennialists

eschatology
the study of the last things
type/antitype
the OT prophet describes an event, person or institution (“type”) and later scripture reveals the prophetic significance of this event, person or institution (“anti-type”)
A type foreshadows the antitype - a future event or person that is similar to the type.
Ex. Old Testament atonement rituals; The “Sacrifice” of Isaac (Gen. 22 & Heb. 11:17-19) - A preview of God providing His own Son for you
type-gap prophecy
the prophet predicts two similar events or people widely separated in time
Example: destruction of Israel/Jerusalem (from 70 AD) is a type of what will happen in end times)
unforeseen partial
the prophet looks into the future and describes the coming millennial kingdom, but doesn’t realize he is also describing aspects of the church age
gap
the prophet predicts two dissimilar events widely separated by time, as though they were one event
the antichrist
- he claims diety
- he is a warlike ruler
- he has total economic control
- he goes to war with the “king of the North” & the “king of the South”
- he invades the mideast after passing through countries, ignoring Edom, Moab & Ammon
- he carries the campaign into Egypt
- rumors from the northeast cause him to reverse direction and go to Israel
- he is destroyed at Armageddon

Verbal plenary inspiration (VPI)
God so moved the authors of scripture that the resulting product was the word of God written, totally without error in all that it affirms in the original autographs, in every area including theology, history, geography and science

The Bible is understandable with regard to its main message
