What are the four ways to make a decision in a group and briefly describe each?

A

Direct Voting by Show of Hands- one vote per person, every person votes, others can see how each other is voting
Direct Voting by Secret Ballot- one vote per person, every person puts their ballot into a box to be counted, confidential (secret)
Consensus- agreement by everyone in the group, every person has a voice and works for the good of the group
Representatives- one person represents the interests of many people and makes decisions on their behalf

What is fairness and Equity?

A

based on everybody getting the right amount, based on their needs

What are examples of equity

A

Different bedtimes for different aged children
2. Different prices for people of different ages
3. Ramps for disabled or people in wheelchairs
4. Providing a taller ladder on one side of a tree so access is equal for both people picking its contents

What is equality?

A

based on everybody getting exactly the same, no matter what needs they have.

What are the four pillars of democracy?

A

Freedom is where you can have your freedom of speech,etc. Representation is where you are going to say something off of other peoples ideas,Equity is based on everybody getting the right amount, based on their needs,Justice is where you are justifying your say off of other peoples answers.
