Death Rate
The number of death’s in a specific population usually 1,000 over a year
Immigration Rate
What portion of the population are immigrants usually expressed as per 1,000
Emigration Rate
The proportion of a countries native population residing abroad per given time, usually expressed as a percentage
Natural Increase
The change in population’s size to the difference between birth’s and death’s during a specific period of time
Population Growth Rate
The annual percentage change in the number of people in a population. Measures how much the population is growing or shrinking overtime.
Life Expectancy
The average number of years a person is expected to live.
Infant Mortality
The number of deaths of infants under the age of one per 1000 births a year.
Total Fertility Rate
The average number of children a woman is expected to have if she lives through the years in which she can have kids.
Population Pyramid
A representation of the age and sex disruption in a area.
Dependency Ratio
The percentage of the population that depends on the working population for support.
Carry Capacity
The maximum population an area can support without degration.
Population Distribution
How people are spread out across a geographical area.
Population Density
The number of individuals living within a specific area.
GDP
Gross domestic product, measure of the value added created through the production of goods and services in a country during a certain period.
Literacy Rate
The percentage of people, within a specific age group, usually 15 or older that can both read and write.
Vital Statistics
Data concerning the population, such as the number of births, marriages, and deaths.
