- Withdrawal from friends and family
- no longer engaging in activities they enjoyed
- Feelings of worthlessness and sadness leads to increased risk of suicide
- Feelings of guilt for falling behind on work
- No motivation to work
- Work can be demanding/tiring because of lack of sleep
