What is an OGTT

You need to have a morning, fasting blood test, so no food or drink for 8 to 10 hours. After this first blood sample we will give you a glucose sugary drink.
Then after 2 hours we till take your blood sample again to see how your body is dealing with the sugary drink.

Question 2

Advising someone who is starting warfarin

Answer 2

• Yellow book with advise, alert card and INRs
• Agreed regular blood tests for INR.
• Need to take warfarin AT SAME TIME every day.
• No pregnancy please!
• Side effects = bleeding which can present as gum bleeding, bruising and head bleeds, nausea and vomiting, liver dysfunction, skin necrosis.
