Subsistence farmers
Producing just enough to feed themselves, with a little extra

Average number of years a person can expect to live

Number of mothers per 1000 who die during childbirth

Low Income Countries (Latin America, Africa and Asia)

The richest fifth or 20% - of the world’s countries owns 83% of the world’s wealth
The bottom two quintiles
The poorest 40% - owns 3% of the world’s wealth

Previously thought poor countries becoming wealthier
MICs
Middle Income Countries - Large reserve of raw materials in these countries, encouraged investment and growth, and their cities experienced big increases in population (Brazil, Chile)
