When and Why did the Korea war start
War broke out in 1950 because Stalin agreed to support an invasion on south korea and provide north korea with weapons, aircraft and tanks as they are anti communist

In 1948, Communist North Korea was backed by USSR and anti communist South Korea was backed by USA.
Their aims was to unite Korea and spread their beliefs

South Korea turned to UN security council for help and USA asked for them to support them. UN security council helped South korea as USSR was not present to reject this so the proposal was passed.

MacArthur is a American general who got fired in 1951 because he overstepped his authority by suggesting to use nuclear weapons but Truman wanted to end the war quickly and avoid nuclear war

The war became Stalemate where neither sides made significant progress. Both sides agreed to a truce in 1953 where North korea remained communist and South korea remained non-communist
