  1. Play with toys with hard, shiny surfaces
    - Children w/ visual impairment rely on other senses to develop understanding of environment around them e.g. different textures
  2. Use auditory cues eg wind chimes
  3. Provide full description of all objects
  4. Engage in play with auditory and touch experiences, using a mirror with lights for visual coordination
    - Mirrors help with visuo-spatial development
  5. Avoid sudden light changes - very sensitive to light
