A

In 2018 Scot parliament introduced a minimum alcohol price of 50p per unit to reduce excessive drinking
First part of uk to ban smoking in 2006
Free university for residents
Voting age reduced to 16 for local elections,referendums and elections to Scot parliament
Since 2011 medical prescriptions has been free

Result of devolution on Scot and wanting independence

A

In 2024 only got 9 seats
Call for a second independence referendum after Brexit since Scot voted 62% remain but declined by Supreme Court

Why does Wales have less independence

A

Wales was absorbed into the English state in medieval period and so did not develop a distinct legal system while medieval and Tudor monarchs often boasted of welsh decent
Labour also has very firm roots in English speaking south wales while Plaid Cymru in welsh speaking north wales
Welsh nationalism less progress

Wales 1997 referendum

A

Not granted any primary legislative powers instead simply given administrative powers in areas such as education, health,transport and agriculture
In effect they just had power to decide how to implement acts of Parliament passed in Westminster
