To visualize colon and obtain specimens. NPO 6-8 hrs prior. Bowel cleansing. Patient is sedated.

A

Visualizes rectum and sigmoid colon. Enema until colon is clear may be ordered on morning of test. Sedation is optional. Observe for bleeding after.
