How do you create a System Diagnostics report in Activity Monitor?

A

In the toolbar, click the button that looks like “…” inside of a circle, then select “System Diagnostics” from the contextual menu

When the diagnostic completes, a Finder window displays the results — a compressed archive file in the path /private/var/tmp/

TIP: You can also create Spindump and Spotlight Diagnostics reports from this same menu

Click the Stop button in Activity Monitor, then click Force Quit to close an unresponsive app.
