What are minerals?
Elements that our body needs to develop & function normally. Found in most things (e.g Bread, meat, fish, dairy, veg.) Turn food into energy.
what are carbohydrates?
Provide glucose for respiration, releases energy in the body for all types of exercise.
What are fats?
Acts as an energy source, only used when not enough carbohydrates. Provides energy
What is protein?
Needed for growth and building/ repairing muscles
What is a typical balanced diet made of?
55-60% carbohydrates
25-30% fats
15-20% protein
