Non-parametric tests have less power than the parametric tests (not taking full advantage of the data and ranks use) when all the assumptions of the parametric statistical tests can be met in the data and the data measured on a ratio scale

In small sample case special tables of critical values are needed.

These are not readily available and have different formats.

Not as standard as normal (t, chi sq or F) critical values
