Enterotoxemia D
convulsions, coma, death. Irregular feeding trigger. Prevent with 2 shot vaccine
Enterotoxemia C
Bloody scours. Severe intestinal problems, stop eating, bloat. Vaccinate ewes
Enterotoxemia B
yellow runny scours. Get at birth. Vaccinate ewe
Tetanus
Muscle contraction, no muscle relaxation, heart attack, suffocation. Vaccinate
Soremouth
Viral disease, highly contagious, orally transmitted, scabs and sores on mouth, lips, eyes, and udders. Vaccinate ear
Polyarthritis
Stiff lamb disease, stiffness, soreness, and inflammation in joints. Due to chlamydia. treatment oxytetracycline
Salmonellosis
Watery green diarrhea, dehydration, gut damage, could effect ewes and cause abortion
Coccidiosis
Contagious, causes scours, could cause rectal prolapse. Treat with Corid (amprolium). prevent by feeding Decox
Shipping Fever
Respiratory problems due to stress, dust, weather, and changes. cough, runny nose, elevated temp, froth, death. No one treatment is effective for all.
Urinary Calculi
mostly in males, urine leaks, lays down often, drench with ammonium chloride
White muscle disease
loss of muscle function, deterioration of skeletal muscle, deficiency in vitE or selenium. Injection is best but can add to feed or use oral gel
Blue tongue
Carried by gnat, lameness, swollen tongue and face, death from inability to breathe. treat with antiinflammatory. vaccinate. dont vaccinate pregnant ewes
