A

Physical examination of the vehicle - look for: locks missing, licence doesn’t match registration plates, wof doesn’t match plates, roughly painted

Full interview of driver - the driver must supply full name and address, whether he or she owns the vehicle, name and address of the vehicles owner. Ask questions only the owner would know

Full interview of the passenger - what’s your name and address, who are the driver and or/ owner, what did driver tell you when you got into vehicle, did you take vehicle.

Police information network - NIA, query person, query vehicle
