Distal radius Flashcards
(5 cards)
What are the lafontaine criteria
dorsal angulation >20 degrees, dorsal communion, intra-articular radoiocarpal fracture, age >60 years, associated ulnar fracture
what are the functional outcomes differences in surgical treatment vs casting for unstable DRfxs in patients >60 at 12 months?
At 12 months, there were no significant differences in surgical treatment vs casting for unstable distal radius fractures at 12 months. There was faster recovery in the OR group, but outcomes equalized over time and complications were higher in the operative group.
Patient satisfaction of unstable distal radius treatment with cast vs op?
patient satisfaction is high, especially for lower demand patients
Malunion of unstable DRfx in op vs nonop?
maulnion rates were higher in the casting group but radiographic deformity did not correlate strongly with functional outcomes
What was the tourniquet time for case 1
2 hours and 15 minutes
