-must get endoscopy after treatment to rule out colon cancer, however not for 6-8 weeks post treatment as perforation risk is high early on

treatment of mild disease

• 7-10 day course of PO antibiotics
• clear liquid diet
• F/U at 72 hours, if not improving ED or imaging warranted

CIPRO 750mg BID + flagyl 500 TID
or Augmentin BID

high fiber diet must be started 8 weeks after treatment.
