Q

What is transcription?

A

Stage one of protein synthesis

In the nucleus, DNA unravels and the hydrogen bond breaks, allowing the DNA to be transcribed into mRNA - it can now travel to the ribosomes.

Q

What is translation?

A

Stage 2 of protein synthesis

mRNA arrives at the ribosomes, the ribosomes match each codon to amino acids to form a chain of amino acids, proteins are then made.
