What does the “P” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Propitiation- Greek concept meaning to appease or to atone and stresses that the holiness of God was fully satisfied, His wrath was appeased, and His righteous demands were met through the atoning death of Christ. An offering was made. Romans 3:25
What does the first”R” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Redemption- Greek term to set free by payment of a price. Emphasizes that through death, Christ set the believer free from the enslavement to sin. Romans 3:24
What does the first “E” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Efficacious- It works. We can count on it

What does the “S” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Substitution- the true meaning of Christ’s death because He sacrifices Himself in the place of condemned sinners to satisfy God’s holy and righteous judgments against sin.

What does the second “E” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Expiation-wiping away or cancellation so sin

Reconciliation- Through sin man was alienated from God, but through Christ’s death peace with God, and salvation itself, was made possible for all who believed in Jesus.

Voluntary- Jesus willingly died for us.

What does the last “E” stand for in P.R.E.S.E.R.V.E?
Eventual- An eventual vicarious act is one performed on behalf of someone else. When Jesus died at Calvary, it was vicarious death. Jesus died on behalf of us all, the innocent One for the guilty many. It was eventual for Him to do this. 1 Peter 2:24 & Isaiah 53:6
