From back to sea it is made up of
Chalk(Hard)
greensands(soft)
wealden clay (soft)
purbeck limestone (hard)
portland limestone (hard )
formed by old river that ran throught that area causing weaknesses in rock
120 metre wide entrance
250 metre wide chalk backing
300-500 feet high cliffs
500 metres wide
SW prevailing wind 7000 km fetch

How are landforms inter related on the Dorset coastline

A

Ballard down acts as a groyne LSD moves sediment north along the beach at Swanage and then Ballard down acts as a groyne trapping the sand on swanage beach
Erosion at bats head provides flints that build up west of durdle door that create a beach
Prevailing wind from south west means durdle door protects man o war rocks from waves slows erosion of man o war rocks
