Q

Kiarra wants to prepare a 75.0mL solution of 0.200mol/L
potassium carbonate. Outline a series of steps that she
should follow. Include calculations & specialized
equipment. (7 mark question)

A

(Before writing steps calculate the mass of potassium carbonate by finding the number of moles in it first)

1) Measure 2.07 g of K2CO3 on a scale
2) Grab a volumetric flask
3) Pour the K2CO3 into a 75.0 mL volumetric flask
4) Swirl and dissolve the K2CO3 in a small amount of water
5) Add additional water to the solution until you reach the mark on the volumetric flask
