What happens when a solid is heated?
The particles vibrate faster and faster untill they break away from eavh other. Then the solid has melted to a liquid
What happens when you turn liquid to gas?
The particles are heated more so get more energy and move faster. The faster ones break away from each other and the liquid turns into gas.
When changing state what happens?
They need energy to overcome the forces of attraction between the particles in the orgianl state.
