What is drama?
It is acting/telling a story, putting on a show, expressing your feelings through acting, developing your confidence and telling a story and engaging the audience
What is body language?
Using your body to tel something to someone, using your body to talk to people, using movement to show your feelings, facial expressions, gestures and posture/how you stand.
What things would you look at when reading others
Gestures,facial expressions and body language
What is improvisation?
It is the making up of a play or scenario of the spot or with very little preparation.it is based on an old street form the theatre called Commedia Dell’arte all’improviso,or (comedy through the art of improvisation ) it came from Italy
Why do actors improvise?
To think about how a character acts in a different setting/scenario, to learn more about a character, to build acting skills and confidence and as a concentration warm-up activity.
Features of a silent film are
Title cards, music, acting techniques(facial expressions, body language and gestures
What are the theatre roles
Director, producer, stage manager, costume designer, set designer, front of house staff, box office and publicity coordinator
What does a director do?
A director is responsible for the main vision of the production.
Interprets the scrip.
Lead rehearsals and determine stage blocking.
They need to communicate the vision to the various departments.
What does a producer do?
The producer funds the production and decides on a director.
What does a set designer do?
Works alongside the director to create a set for the play.
They have lots of people who help build, paint and decorate the set.
What does a costume designer do?
Works alongside the director to develop costuming for the actors.
The creation of costumes requires extensive research and knowledge of the measurements of each actor.
What does a stage manager do?
Responsible for the running of the stage during production.
Required to call for the queuing of lights, sounds, sets, props and actors during the show.
What does a publicity producer do?
Responsible for advertising and promotion of the production
What does the box office do?
Responsible for the sale of tickets and organisation of seating
What does the front of house staff do?
Responsible for the audience side of the curtain.
Responsible for the arrival, seating and dispersal of the audience

A theatre which the stage is located in the center of the auditorium with the audience seated all around the stage.
