What are actors
- the people involved in the activity
- they perform and act out a role or character
What an audience
-the people who watch the performances
What is space
-where the performance takes place and how the space is arranged or organized
What is the time
- certain time only
- of a particular duration
What is costumes
-clothing or other items worn by the actors to reveal the characters they are portraying
What are props
- objects that are used by the performers
- they will usually hold a great deal of significance
What are special effects
- the use technology to enhance a performance
- this includes aspects such as sound or lighting
What Is music or accompaniment
-songs or instruments that may be used during the performance
What is movement or choreography
- the physical work to enhance the performance
What are chants, call and response, or response
- these elements all add to the way in which the performers communicate on the stage
What is structure
- the way in which the performance is ordered
Eg linear,Cyclical or episodic
What is the characters
- the performers need to make use of vocal and physical characterization in order to transform into the character they will be playing in the performance
What is the language
- the way in which each character speaks and the register and vocabulary that they use
- this will be influenced by the dramatic context
what is dramatic tension
- the way in which suspense, excitement and anticipation is created in a performance
