Reading GPS, using a phone, searching for dropped items, tending to children, and fastening safety belt while driving.

Staying in the middle of the lane and making there is enough room around you to stop safely.

What are blind spots?
Areas to the left and right sides of your vehicle that are not visible in your mirror.
You should always signal before you
Change lanes, turn at intersection or into driveway/alleyway, enter or leave a freeway, pull away from the curb, pull over to the side of the road, and slow down or stop suddenly.
When you pass you should
Pass on the left after signaling and checking behind you/ blind spots/ in mirrors.
Passing on the right is only permitted when
The driver of the other vehicle is making a left turn, An open highway is clearly marked for two or more lanes of vehicles moving in the same direction as you are going, you are in a business/residential area where the pavement is marked for two or more lanes of vehicle (dame direction).
You must never pass on the right by driving off the paved or main portion of the roadway.
YOU SHALL NOT PASS when..
There is a double sided lane or a solid dividing line on the lane in which you are driving, approaching a curve or the top of a hill where you cannot see ahead to be sure of safe passing, approaching within 100 feet of a street crossing, approaching within 100 feet of a railroad crossing, and within 100 feet of a bridge, tunnel or underpass where your view is blocked.
Yield in a roundabout

How to drive in a roundabout
- slow down as you approach the intersection; roundabouts are designed for speeds of 15-20 mph
- enter the roundabout when there is a gap in traffic; do not stop. follow the signs and marks on the pavement to find which lane to use
- you may exit at a street or continue around if you miss your exit
Backing up and reversing
Check behind your car before you get in, turn around so you can look directly through the window, and back up slowly.
Parking on a hill
When you park on a downhill grade, turn your wheels toward the curb and set your parking brake.
When you park on an uphill grade turn your wheels to the left, let your car roll back until the right front wheel rests against the curb and stops. set your parking brake.
If there is no curb, turn the wheel tot he right so that the car will roll away from the center of the road in the event that brakes fail.
ALWAYS SET YOUR PARKING BRAKE
Prohibited Parking
on sidewalk, in front of a private parking space, within the boundaries of an intersection, on a crosswalk or within 20 feet of a crosswalk or intersection, on any freeway or highway, within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 50 of a railroad crossing, on a bridge of in a tunnel, in any way that creates a hazard.
Lane use
Right lane - entering , exiting, and fro slow traffic.
Gore Area
The area between a through roadway and an entrance or exit ramp.

Come to a full stop but proceed with caution
Flashing Yellow Light
Slow down and proceed with caution
Red Arrow
You may not turn the direction of the arrow. You must stop and wait for a green arrow.
Yellow Arrow
About to change red. Do not drive through unless you had already left.
