1) place nurses initials on mar sheet
2) document any reason for pt not taking drug
3) indicate on Mar sheet whether administration was delayed and what time given
Right to refuse
1) document time and date pt refused med and refusal reason
2) notify charge nurse and hcp that rx drug
3) explain purpose and therapeutic effect of drug to pt
4) record refusal could be due to pt mental status

4) eye drops and ointment

6) pharyngeal spray, mouthwash and lozenge
7) topical preparations: ointment, cream and lotion

Applied to skin for slow, systemic absorption

Delivers drug to be absorbed by mucosal lining of respiratory tract
