Q

How are drugs metabolized through various reactions?

A

Oxidation = +/- of O2
Reduction= - H2
Hydrolysis = + H20
Conjugation = + of ionised group/lipid to drug e.g. acetyl
Condensation = 2 + drug molecules combine to form a molecular compound
Isomerisation = reaction changes to the drug molecule to optical isomer, either same or different
