Characteristics for Adjustment Disorder
Term
1. Emotional or behavioral symptoms caused by identifiable Stressor(s) within 3 months of Stressor onset.
2. Either of the Following: Marked diStress beyond expectations.
Significant impairment in social, occupational, or academic functioning.
3. Not a exacerbation of preexisting Axis I or Axis II Disorder.
4. Not Bereavement.
5.Symptoms disappear within 6 months of the end of the Stressor.
Note: Adjustment Disorder alone is not a diagnosis.
