the constitution guarantees everyone accused the right to trial by jury, if called upon, citizens must report to jury duty by law (consequences include fines or prison time)
attend school
the government provides free public education all around the country. most states have laws that require students to attend from age 7-16

be informed and vote, participate in community, respect rights and properties of others, and respect different opinions and ways of life

voting is one of the most important responsibilities of American citizens, know what the government is doing so you can vote and voice your opinion on those matters
participate in the community
responsible citizens show concern for others and themselves, give money, time, and effort to the common good
respect the rights of others
good citizens treat others politely and respectfully, society runs smoother when rights are respected

since the U.S. has a very diverse population, its important to respect the opinions of others.
