Q

What is rate of change of momentum?

A

rate of change of momentum = m(v-u)/t
can also be written as

What is principle of conservation of momentum?

A

For an isolated system, where no external forces are acting, the total momentum before collision is the total momentum after collision.

Q

What are the two types of collisions and explain

A

Elastic Collision : in this collision momentum and kinetic energy both are conserved and the relative speed off approach= relative speed of seperation

Inelastic Collision: in this collision momentum is conserved but kinetic energy is not conserved and the relative speed of approach is not equal to relative speed of seperation.
