What must happen when giving an e-referral to a child (between 11-18 years old)?

Answer 1

Attempt to obtain consent from parent/s and /or guardian/s. If all reasonable steps are taken and consent cannot be obtained, a referral can still be made.

What must be considered for a Child/family e-referral?

A referral cannot be made of

• parent or guardian does not give consent for the referral
• there is a child protection or family violence involvement

Can you give a general e-referral to ATSI communities?

Answer 3

No, they must be referred to culturally-specific service provider.
