What is Preliminary Wastewater Treatment?
Removal of large solid materials + grits & sands + smaller particles
via Screening & a Grit Chamber & a Sedimentation Tank
What is a Combined Sewer Overflow?
A CSO functions as a safety valve for a combined sewer system.
They discharge excess wastewater directly into a river system or the sea during times of high rainfall.
They are designed to come into use when the volume of waste water exceeds the capacity of the sewer system.
What is the European Blue Flag Programme?
The Blue Flag is awarded to beaches of high quality in terms of water quality and environmental management, education, safety and services.
