Q

What is speech emergence?

A

A child is no longer simply repeating words all set phrases.
They experiment by choosing a few of their own words to communicate ideas, e.g. red car or outside, please .
This is a huge breakthrough as they are understanding the words
This demonstrates confidence that they are no longer copying but experimented to see if they are correct .
