Easter Monday — Form:

A

Petrarchan Sonnet. Fractured, doesn’t follow the usual structure of an Octet and a Sestet, representing how the speaker is emotionally broken and symbolising how removed they are from each other due to war.

Traditionally used in love poetry, so is appropriate considering the relationship between Eleanor and Edward.
