What does the nucleus do
Controls cell and contains most of the DNA
What does the vesicle do
Stores and transports stuff produced by cells and does exocytosis
What is exocytosis
A process of when a vesicle transports material outside cell
What does Smooth endoplasmic reticulum (ER) do
Creates lipids and helps detoxify harmful stuff (different from rough ER bc no ribosomes attached)
What does the Cytoplasm do
(watery) helps organelles travel inside the cell
What does the golgi complex do
Sorts and ships proteins from ER
What does peroxisome do
Safely breaks down toxins that are bad to cell
What does Centriole do
Makes cytoskeleton & activates when cell divides and helps move chromosomes
What do lysosomes do
(created by golgi) breaks down molecules for cells to use
What does the mitochondria do
Packages energy from food into ARP cells (different types of cells = different number of mitochondrion)
What does the nucleolus do
Makes ribosomes
What do ribosomes do
(Found in cytoplasm or attached to rough ER) makes protein cells & makes proteins that can be shipped off to other cells
What does the cytoplasm do
Helps hold the shape of the cell and moves things inside the cell (found everywhere inside the cell)
What does the rough endoplasmic reticulum (ER) do
Most protein synthesis is here
What do the channels of the cell do
Made of special protein that controls food & water intake of cell
What does the nuclear DNA do
Holds DNA in nucleus
